WHAT: Lambda can't seem to find Richard anywhere, he woke up to an empty room and isn't too happy about that.

A. Various places in the castle

[ Lambda isn't used to waking up to a completely empty room. Richard is nowhere to be found and it leaves an uneasy feeling in the 'young' boys gut.

So of course his first idea was to go looking for the adult. Sure, he wasn't prone to wandering around alone. He usually had Dezel, Zaveid, or Richard with him...but he had to find one of those three. He might as well try on his own first right?

The more and more he searches though the more it seems like he won't find the blond King. ]

B. Statue Room

[ After enough searching Lambda can only think of one place he hasn't gone.

He's heard about people disappearing and statues of them showing up in a certain room, so that's where he goes. Of course, that's where he sees it, a statue of Richard holding himself in a regal pose and very much made of stone. there's a heaviness in lambda's stomach and a sting to his eyes that he isn't used to.

He hasn't felt this way since Cornell died. Was it the same? Probably. It felt like it.

Sniffling he'll just sit beside the statue, curled in on himself. ]

May Event: Dreams that lead to traps or Nightmares that lead to salvation

WHEN: Starts May 15th
WHAT: Suddenly a select few people are gaining these weird dreams and nightmares. Where do they lead? are they truly good intentions or is there something more malevolent behind them?
RATING: PG-R(it really depends on the people now doesn't it?)

Things have calmed down since the battle with the Queen within the dream realms. It hasn't even been a full month however before a few people seem to be experiencing something...odd. Dreams and nightmares that are not like something they should really be having, something that wasn't normal for them. Even given all that has happened.

Some of these dreams are nothing more than false hopes, some of the nightmares hold truth, and finally...some of them have no meaning other than to torture the person having them with an unanswerable riddle or something that plagues them with nightmares of said nightmare.

Which will it be?

WHAT: Someone has questions... Or might inspire a few.

[Essei was, to put it lightly, confused after waking up. She had fallen asleep in one place, with Master Sera and her other allies around her. Then, she woke up in... Some dreamscape, attacked by creatures she recognized, but shouldn't have. Memories of a time that happened while she was in deep storage began to surface, in the middle of a warzone.

She'd ran into someone she knew, but shouldn't have, too. Zuko. Her... Master? Other master? She'd have to mentally resolve that little conflict, too. There probably had never been need for policy for a situation like this in the history of the Uloan Empire in... Her timeline.

Coincidentally, right as she happens to be passing someone, Essei would mutter...]

... This place makes more sense than this unit's home plane.

That's kind of scary to think about.

[She hadn't been paying attention to who was around her, honestly... Some of whom, possibly having known her before, might have questions that she'd need to answer. Most definitely, that would include Zuko. Who she'd need to look for and discuss things with. If anyone had a good answer or ten, it'd be her. Hopefully.]

May Introduction: In the space between truth and lies

WHO: New arrivals, old heroes of light, the Queen, an army of weaker shadows, and Ozuma (well, what's left of him)
WHERE: The shattered remains of the dream worlds
WHEN: May 1st
WHAT: The dream states from last month have begun to break apart, and within their floating nebulous remains the Queen has appeared. She has a fraction of her power but she's ready to throw down anyway.
RATING: PG-R

Cracks like shattered glass through the walls of reality turned dreams. Color draining from the backgrounds like washed out coloring books left in water to soak and crumble away with time. Memories a confusing mishmash of what was, what is, what could be. For those trapped in those decaying dreamstates it's almost impossible to tell what's what anymore. One remembers the castle clearly, the other only in fragments while their life in the dream is still what they consider to be "real". Through the cracks other dreams can be seen, the "NPCs" of life going on as if nothing at all is wrong.

The biggest fissures come from the dream of Luceti, a seemingly calm village of people with wings on their backs. Here the reality of the castle has seeped in even stronger, and those massive cracks in their little bubbled off place look glaringly upon the rest as if waiting for something to burst open from them.

In the castle a tiny selection of new arrivals have managed to somehow fall through the absolute haze that Ozuma's failing body left behind. They've landed in the center of the Luceti dreamscape, lacking the wings that everyone else had gained - a further testament to the power of these dreamscapes breaking down.

Beyond that, though, a presence has been slinking around this place, dark and foreboding yet waiting with unprecedented patience. The entire month she's simply been watching, biding her time, looking for the perfect opportunity. Ozuma's light has returned but it's oh so weak and unable to do anything at all. He cannot help, he cannot prevent the dreamscapes from cracking further, he can't even tell those scant few new arrivals what's going on before it all begins to dissolve.

She appears in a curl of acrid black smoke, staged like the rise of a movie villain with the draining of color and cracks behind her increasing. Bone-pale hands spread wide as her arms raised to the skies, shadow creatures exploding in to existence all around her. She says nothing, but the expression on her face speaks volumes.

Ozuma is unable to protect his heroes, and she is absolutely ready to tear them down while their defenses are at their lowest.

(ooc: Refer to the Luceti link above for area layout of where people will be for the bulk of this fight. The other dreamscapes will crumble enough to give a connection to Luceti and allow the rest of the heroes to join in. Mobs of low level shadows will be everywhere, though, and will make getting close to her very difficult through sheer number alone. This is not the end battle with the Queen by any stretch of the imagination, but this is a chance for heroes to weaken her significantly even without Ozuma to aid or tell the new arrivals what the situation is.

April Event: Stars are downpouring in the various nights

WHAT: Ozuma's physical body took too much damage to properly heal, a previously unknown side effect of being given physical form from his incorporeal one. In an attempt to return and not leave his heroes stranded he let himself "die" in hopes of being able to return. Unfortunately as it happens with Ozuma related things, there was an unintended side effect with that, too.
RATING: G-R depending on dreamscape

[Everyone knew by now that Ozuma wasn’t doing well. It took very little for news to spread among the castle residents, even by word of mouth, and even the new arrivals were being given that information. The only one who knew it better than any of the other was Nikkari, and with good reason given that they had been rooming together since before the Starscourage came through and took so many of the heroes down with it. Though it had long since dissipated and anyone who had been struck ill by it had recovered, it seemed to be lingering within the avatar. His skin had become ashen in color, dark circles under his eyes, hands trembling and breath often haggard. Healing had been performed on him many times, yet it all appeared to be a temporary fix - a bandaid on a bigger issue that he wasn’t speaking to anyone about, even Nikkari.

Some time the month before he had also disappeared for a time only to return with no word to where he had gone and looking even worse than when he had left. A short conversation with a clearly agitated Ico had been little more than a sorrowful apology to the boy before he retreated once more to his room to sleep - the only activity he could do anymore without being in constant visible pain.

Morning came as it did with nothing spectacular to show for it, but with it Ozuma woke barely able to move of his own volition. It was then that he finally asked Nikkari a favor. He needed to get to the altar room, to the place where he was once confined in a non corporeal form before being given the physical body that was now failing him.]

[Nikkari agrees to carry him. Of course he does. He would carry Ozuma anywhere he asked, at any time, even if the horned man had simply been tired.

That this seems so much like a last request only fuels the desire to fulfil his wish.

And so he does. He does, though it hurts as much as it always does when it’s someone’s time. And it’s always someone’s time, eventually.

So Nikkari smiles, and resolves to stay by Ozuma’s side until the end, even as he sets him down on the altar.]

[It’s clear he’s in pain, uncomfortable and grimacing even as he tries to smile at Nikkari. What expression he does manage is sad, morose and regretful.

He never intended things to go this way, but there’s little anyone can do about it now no matter how much they want to help him.]

Thank you… and… I am truly sorry for all of this. I had hoped I could overcome it on my own but this body… it’s simply taken too much damage…

It’s fine, it’s fine. I already knew humans were fragile things, even before I met you. I’ll be right here the whole time, so you don’t have to worry, you know?”

[Ozuma’s brows furrow worriedly, a frown tugging at his pale lips.]

Are… you certain you want to be here for this? I have no idea what’s going to happen… especially to anyone who is near me.

[Nikkari responds by smiling wider and taking Ozuma’s hand.]

A wakizashi’s place is at the side of their partner, come what may.

[That gets a tired smile from Ozuma, though it’s strained after a few seconds.]

You are too good to me, Nikkari. Truly. For all I’ve done, the things I have forced others into… I do not feel like I deserve so much kindness.

Heh. I think “good” is still a bit too human a thing to apply to me. I just think it’d be a much nicer world if everyone got a little kindness, you know? [He gives Ozuma’s hand a little squeeze.] So do what you have to, and don’t worry, okay?

It's… not a bad thought. Not at all.

[Thankfully, by the grace of whatever is happening to the man, it doesn’t seem to be happening in a way that is violent or horrible to watch. Painful as it might be for him, on the outside it appears to be little more than giving in to utter exhaustion. He closes his eyes, breathing beginning to slow while still sounding somewhat labored.

He grips Nikkari’s hand for as long as he can before he finally gives in to the weakening of his body.]

Thank you… for being here. I promise I will do everything I can to return…

[Nikkari ‘hmm’s softly in response.]

[There really isn’t much more than can be done or said now. Ozuma lets out his few remaining breaths before going entirely still.

And after that…

Nothing.

At least for a good minute. There’s just stillness and a heavy silence over the altar room. A body that had only been living for barely a year no longer drawing breath.

Slowly, though, a faint glow begins at the center of Ozuma’s chest, growing, growing, blinding. Though only visible in the altar room a strange sensation ripples through the rest of the castle. No one can escape it, no matter where they are currently at. A weight on the mind, a sensation to lay down wherever you’re at and simply fall asleep.

Fight it all you want, in the end it won’t matter.

The glowing continues spreading out from Ozuma until it engulfs everything in the room, everything in the entire castle. Even the darkened areas that have yet to be explored are touched, albeit briefly, by this powerful energy. The urge to sleep becomes a compulsion that can no longer be ignored and within ten minutes of Ozuma’s supposed passing all the residents of the Castle in the Mist have been lulled into a deep, deep sleep.

Wait, what just happened?

Maybe it was all a dream…]

April Intro Event: Tonight, we're at the lost and found

WHAT: The arrivals have begun again. Is this a sign of things returning to "normal"? Most signs are going to be pointing to ???
RATING: G to PG-13

Though explorations have happened in the apparent absence of the avatar, a stillness has managed to come over the castle. The Queen hasn't made much of a move herself, either, and it's enough to make one wonder if things have simply reached a stalemate rather than any sort of progress to a resolution. Residents have continued living their lives to the best of their ability, but the question of when they'll be able to go home still remains silent in the air around them all.

On April 1st, though, there is a resurgence of new arrivals. They come up in the Altar Room as always, and for the first time in months Ozuma is there to greet them. He looks tired, skin ashen as though he's recovering from an illness, and barely capable of focusing on his job. He manages to greet new arrivals at least, and give a somewhat truncated version of his usual spiel about why people have been brought here and what their purpose is.

That seems to be it for the new arrivals. A quiet explanation of the situation, an offer of a cell phone, and directions to the living quarters.

Except something is wrong. Something missing from one's personal possessions. A small thing but likely important or sentimental, and it's gone from your person when everything else you had on you is still there. Where did it go? Ozuma has no clue. Sorry.

Might want to start asking around.

Oh but wait, there's more!

Last year around this time a bunch of eggs appeared around the castle randomly. This year seems to be no different!

Except there's a catch. There are no gentle newborn Pokemon in these eggs. Some might contain nothing, others may have completely useless items like someone else's laundry (ew!), garbage or a random low level high school textbook.

And the rest?

Well, let's just hope none of you have any major phobias of things like snakes, rats, spiders, insects, bats or any other of your usual "creepy crawlies"!

[ Unless one keeps solely to the most safest of the safe zone -- the altar room, the residential chambers of those chosen by Ozuma to fight in this war, or even the hall of statues erected in memoriam for those who had come and gone before -- you may just end up with a glimpse (or a proper encounter) with a certain shadow.

One who doesn't lurch or shamble or march so much as shuffle.

One who occasionally does little more than observe before he slips away in the span of time between blinks.

One who doesn't attack. Doesn't FIGHT. Not without it being the means to a particular end -- to try to drag, coerce, or manipulate certain others to join it through a roiling puddle of fitful darkness, a void portal that only leads to the same force that makes more of the Queen's shadowy forces.

While he isn't the most destructive of the Queen's army, he is perhaps one of the most surprisingly shrewd, exploiting subtle rules that govern one's conventional idea of reality. That one cannot be harmed when it's "their turn", that one cannot be in two places at once, that one's turn does not continue on indefinitely, as a few examples.

This is not your average Shadow. ]

It's been a quiet two months, hasn't it? A welcome reprieve from the Queen's tricks, and the foreboding atmosphere that had swallowed up January. Perhaps the downtime has you feeling adventurous. Itching with purpose, to explore, to breathe in fresh air, you've stepped out of the safe zones. There are some truly beautiful views to be found out here, from the Bridge, to the Windmill, to the Easter Reflector.

Of course, you shouldn't let your guard down. You know Shadows can pop up from around the corner at any time. But still, it seems peaceful here, doesn't it...? Or maybe you haven't left the safe areas at all; following your typical routine, you've not gone anywhere you wouldn't normally. You feel safe here. Nothing is amiss.

Don't worry. It won't take long to realize that you're not, in fact, alone.

Location-wise, any place outside of the safe areas goes, particularly the ones on the edges of it, such as the Spiral Staircase, and the Bridge. At night only, when the shadows are thickest she may press in closer and be found in the Rooftop Garden, the Statue Room, or Pool changing rooms. She will never be found around the residential areas or Altar Room.]

The Light that Triumphs

WHEN: The morning of the 29th
WHAT: Something has happened! The light is back?!
RATING: PG-R?(Guys why?)

As used to the the dark skies as the castle patrons have grown, they're in for quite a shock at the end of the month. Before what should have been dawn, with very little warning, there's a sudden pulse of Light that rips through the halls of the castle, tearing away at the inky black sky and filling any and every power source-- including the warriors themselves-- with divine energy. After a month of pure darkness, it's a little intoxicating, warm and full of the hope of the heavens… to most. To those who wield darkness, it might not be such a treat, regardless of the way it's affecting the atmosphere. A burning from within that may cause these people to appear sick or even cause pain depending on how deeply the powers are rooted. However, no one will die.

Don't mind the torches flaring and dangerously lashing at the stones. They'll calm eventually.
The quiet of the castle's supposed slumber is pierced with daemon screams as the energy surges through the castle, obliterating those close enough to its source. The remaining few are very clearly not a fan of the pulse and weakened, should anyone rush out and cross their paths. It's blinding, the Light, for a minute or two, but those bolstered by its power will grow quickly accustomed, as if it's able to heal upon impact. If there was ever a time to clean house…now would be it. Though one this many will notice, there don’t seem to be any Shadows anywhere to be found, they seem to have retreated well before the sudden pulse of light. In fact, they haven’t been around since some time after Dove’s network post regarding her powers.

Those still ill from the effects of the scourge will also feel a familiar warmth and while it might be intense--even painful-- for the first few moments, they'll find it highly beneficial to their state. It will take several days for those who are sicker to actually be healed but anyone who has the Blight will no longer be at risk of turning into a daemon. It seems the light slowly eats away at the parasite, causing high fevers and some discomfort.

Along with all this it seems that odd plants are springing up everywhere in the wake of the Light pulse. Vines sneak through cracks and push apart the stone. One could only hope this doesn’t disrupt the castle too much. Good luck getting those pesky vines out of the generator, the fridge even seems to be near bursting thanks to them. Of course, this means that with the generator down...the network is completely gone. At least until the generator is back up and running.
